Becca’s Children’s Books

Inspired by my little one, I write stories based on everyday family life and use concise, child-friendly language to support young children’s communication and self-expression.

As a single mum to a child with dual heritage it’s extremely important to me that all my books are inclusive and show a diverse range of children and families. I write from the child’s point of view and all my books are unisex, accessible and suitable for every family as you, the reader, assign the relationships between characters.

My books align with the values of Maria Montessori, the educationalist who said “the greatest gifts we can give our children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence” and you will see this ethos running throughout my books, where even very young children are shown putting their things away, being respectful of others and overcoming challenges.

Join me on my journey to make children’s literature more inclusive and accessible…

Image of Book Jacket - Becoming safely EmbodiedA Guide to Organize Your Mind, Body and Heart to Feel Secure in the World

Whether you are stuck in the distress of life, or appear like nothing’s wrong, you may have faced trauma or incredible stress or suffocating fear. Maybe you wonder whether those emotions, memories, and experiences are blocking you from being as fulfilled and happy as you could be. Maybe you’re stuck in patterns that simply no longer work for you.

In Becoming Safely Embodied, Deidre Fay shares from her 35 years of psychotherapy and spiritual practice to provide a truly practical way to integrate modern neurobiology and ancient wisdom to finally and completely heal from emotional trauma, no matter how deep or faint, how long ago or recent you experienced the pain.

Throughout her years as a therapist, Deirdre noticed that clients would make progress while in a therapy session and then revert to old patterns between sessions. What people need is a set of skills and practices to support ongoing healing and wholeness. That’s what this book will help you with.

Free online peer support group sessions for the mental AND physical issues that come with living with chronic illness because sometimes, typing in a forum is not enough. Sometimes we need to speak with others who understand.

“When people find affiliation with others they feel are ‘like’ them, they feel a connection. This connection, or affiliation, is a deep, holistic understanding based on mutual experience where people are able to ‘be’ with each other without the constraints of traditional (expert/patient) relationships.” (Mead, 2001)
